Why Doesn’t Yahoo Answers split the Singles & Dating sections into two section one for kids & one for adults?

   Hi and you aren’t the first or only one to ever wonder this. I’m still young but say this and wonder this all the time.

   I’m sure tweens and teens have what they feel are valid, even critical issues, and there are so many I see it to adnuaseum, no real offense kids, but many adults have similar, while more mature issues.

   In my case I take risks sometimes wanting to be irreverent, or even blatantly crude, and so I ignore, avoid, and sometimes bite my tongue

   I think we all realize, or should that the HITS help yahoo and they are in a leaky boat anyway.

   So much of it, in their defense, is ignorance and inexperience, and the issue is so sad to me in the age range you suggest, like "am I too old to be a Virgin?" asked by someone who claims to be 13, YIKES. This has been mentioned here often and perhaps yahoo doesn’t care to split it, but I know I’m here every day,and do respond often, but more often I just sigh and ignore. The prime reason for that, even with kids, is that everyone seems to only want yo hear what they want to hear, and that is true over every category. Honesty has only happened once for me in a response to a best. The asker, a female, actually thanked me for TOUGH LOVE in my answer.

   Good Q you deserve a star, from me at least.

   Suggestions such as these can be made at the Suggestion Forum. Just click the ‘Tell us what you think’ link at the bottom of any YA page. However, the problem is to make the ‘kids’ stick to their own section. They won’t and you can’t force them to.

   As it is, this site is not supposed to be open to 11 & 12 year olds — 13 is the youngest allowed on the site. But I’ve seen them as young as 8 posting on here — and we just can’t stop them.

   I’ve had this idea too. I think we should start a petition about it.

   All the kids make me want to stop answering in the section and give up my top contributor badge.

   Just like I wrote many times on my First ID, Y/A needs levels or ratings if you will or an adult forum and an everyone else forum like now…I had over 5,000 points, I had just about 1,200 answers, I had over 250 best answers a rating of around 30% and I was a top Contributor and was deleted cause of kids and trolls, for craps sakes…why dont they listen…I had a few questions stating we need G, PG, NC-17, R and of course XXX and only allow, like at the movies those who ID themselves at the appropriate age ranges to even view each level. If they register at 13 the youngest limit they get to see, read and answer G rated questions period. 14-15 G and PG, 16-17 up to NC-17 18 and older all of them doesn’t seem hard…All Yahoo has to do is add a word filter and when certain words are used like when they Star "*******" them out they can use those filters to rate the words by Rated G thru XXX depending on those words used and the number of times…they select the rating automatically and if someone trys to post anything outside their age level they are told to edit the words and when they try to enter a question of a rating not for them they are denied! Now the issue is protection for Yahoo and then anyone can put any age…well lets see with all the trolls that are around I think if someone is pretending to be an 18 year old writes "ewwwwwwwwwww…" as an answer I’m sure we will all know that person needs to be reported. Look either way, ratings or one forum for 13-everyone and one for 18 and older, parents beware with disclaimers like with the Yahoo Groups enter at your own risk how is this any different, will work! I’ve said my peace…Chow
