I have been dating a really shy guy for a little over 3 months now. I’ve actually known him off and on for 8 yrs. He’s always been really shy and the last relationship before me was 12 years ago! Which was his second relationship, which makes me his third. The longest was 2 yrs.
Anyways, when I say shy I mean he don’t make the first moves, he don’t communicate well with me, I have to ask lots of questions to find out anything. Example would be, there were a couple of times he wanted to come over and see me. But because I said something earlier about having to go to the store, he assumed I didn’t want him over. He didn’t even ask me! I even said I just had to run to the store real quick.
I know that he really wants this relationship and all to work out. I do believe he’s loyal and very committed to me. My friends say he’s always looking at me when I’m not looking and they can see how he looks at me, that he really cares for me.
My question is… how do I break him out of his shell? He tells me he really wants to but it will take time. My biggest concerns are that it won’t ever happen. Is that true?
He’s been this way all his life and acts like he really wants to open up more to people and all, so that does give me hope that he wants to. But is it even possible? Any tips on how to get him to start talking more and come out of his shyness??
I made this long because I wanted to make sure I said it all and plus I’m really trying to figure out if I should cont. in this relationship or get out before I’ve been in it too long :)
