Is there any organization that will help represent me (free or little cost) in upcoming court case? Cont….?

March 15th, 2010 by admin | Posted in Adult Dating Sites

Single mom Of 4 month old boy. Im taking the "donor" to court for paternity, child support/ custody, & medical… Only problem is I have no-one to represent me in court. The dad will not return any calls or e-mails & I have not spoken to him since Jan. Since Im staying under my moms roof, they combined her income (less then 20,000 a year) with my 401 K (approx. 10,000) & said " I " make to much for free legal representation. (3 adults & 1 infant) Her income is not mine! & to take my 401K out would mean me geeting penalized 30%… I’ve looked into NJ Bar, family planning groups, free legal advise sites, etc. – but I can’t seem to find REPRESENTATION (To stand up infront of the court & speak on my behalf) for an actual court date coming up the begging of Oct. Any Organizations??? ANY HELP AT ALL WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. Thank you soooooo much… : (

Talk to the child support organization in your county. Sometimes they pay the support in lieu of the donor paying and then they go after him for the back support rather than you having to do it. Good luck!

Legal Aid. Check to see if there are any in your area or nearby.

If you live in the states check with your local county court/facilities. In California you can take "classes" which is an all day thing in how to go about doing your own divorce and all they charge is the actual court costs. If you are unable to pay even that you can file a "fee waiver" I filed for divorce for free, all it cost me was the price of a certified letter to "serve" him with papers. Had I gone through a lawyer it would have cost $3,000.00. Consequently though the day after I sent the papers to him I received divorce papers from him…which worked out just as well I didn’t have to pay for it either way.

Most Lawyers do a certain number of Pro Bono(free) cases a year..call up some local Lawyers to see if they take or are currently taling Pro Bono cases.
