Here are the facts:

- I have a guy friend that I’m fairly close to, whom I’ve known for a few years.
- A week or so ago, he asked me to the homecoming dance.
- I said yes.
- He bought me a corsage, held doors open for me, etc.
- He kept asking if I was having a good time.
- We end up avoiding slow songs til the end, when a friend tells him to dance with me. He hugs me afterward. I hug him when we depart.

In school, he seems extra shy, but still friendly. He hugged me again when we were leaving this club after school.

I don’t know what’s going on. I can take a pretty good guess that he likes me, judging by how his brother told me that since he’s too shy, he may have trouble asking me on another date. Plus his friends are pretty darn sure of it as well.

Do guys ever get the impression that homecoming Is asking someone to go out with you? I don’t know how to act around him… any advice on the whole situation, including how to handle a shy guy when you yourself are shy?
