I know I’m not a guy :0) But personally I think what you did was TOTALLY acceptable. If he hasn’t asked you out by now than he may be shy himself …Maybe he was unsure of how you felt and was waiting on you to make the first move

I think it will be fine as long as you don’t try to do too many moves on him for the first date. Let him do the moves, but don’t let him take advantage of you and think you’re easy just because you asked for the date.
not bad at all. if u feel as though the chemistry is flowing, and he’s not rreally taking the iniative to ask u out, why not make the first move? however, when you guys are out, make sure he goes about making the date cool; make him go out his way to do certain things 4 u
Though the person asking for a date has been traditionally guys, that is changing. Guys are becoming more accustomed to being asked. However, old ways die hard, so it is still a chance that he may be reading more interest than you may actually feel. In other words, your feeling of comfort seems to be what motivated you to have a face-to-face meeting. You want to see this person who makes you feel comfortable. Be aware that guys sometimes over-read into female interest. One reason very attractive women do not even smile at guys (who they don’t know) is the fact that too many of them see it as a flirt.
Meet in a public place and go in comfortable thinking that it’s not a big deal. Just be prepared in case he is thinking of it more romantically than you. Other than typical safeguards of being in a public place and him reading into a little more, I don’t think you were being too forward.
One other thought…, it did kind of surprise me that he did not ask you after talking for one month. Typically a guy’s curiousity is peaked by that time. To be on the VERY safe side, be prepared for the possibility that he may be hiding something (e.g., married or different from his description). One advantage to on-line dating is access to more people, however, when the time comes to meet, secrets become harder to hide. Take care.
