Who thinks its distasteful that……..?
…some Filipinos in here consistently use the beauty of Filipino women in the Philippines (along with the usual friendly people, good shopping/beaches) as a carrot to lure or entice foreign men to visit the country? I know those who it are just doing their part to promote tourism in their own land, so Is it just me who thinks this is inappropriate and possible leading to endangerment of Filipinas?
Would an American, Englishman, Aussie, Korean, etc. ever do the same thing? Probably not–because they want to avoid giving the wrong impression to potential visitors to their respective countries.
if you know something about asian cultures, esp. Filipinos, you would noticed that most Filipino men and women have no problem explicitly and unsubtly showcasing its women’s positive in a manner similar to an Internet dating service adverstisement. Examples include frequent use of these adjectives: loyal, simple, hardworking faithful, slim, marriage-minded, seeking foreigners, etc. I don’t know of any industrialized nation’s tourism service promoting these aspects of their women, in so many words.
Filipino women currently suffer from an unfair characterization in the western world as cheap tawdry desperate hookers–much more so than any other developed nation and even some of its neighboring countries. I attribute that to the mindless "marketing" of these women by their own countrymen as subservient, passive individuals who will do anything to please a wealthy foreigner. Of course its not true–but that is the perception.
Regarding naked women found on the beaches of Spain and Europe, it is absolutely not the same. They choose to be naked not to attract men around them but as an expression of individuality and their feminity. These women are not considered by others to have a hidden agenda to snag a man to marry under duress.
That’s the difference.
I have lived in the Philippines and I am very well-versed and fluent in their culture and language, respectively.

two days ago i saw on tv a movie about greek, turkish and russian women on a ship bound for america as mail order bride. one of the male recruiters wanted another sideline by photographing those women nude for extra income. the setting of the story was around the end of the first world war. exploitation of women is not a filipino phenomena but is a repeating occurrence worldwide. i agree that filipino women are beautiful but beg to disagree that they use it to entice foreign men to visit our country. foreigners coming over are mature adults and knows how to protect themselves from con artists. the want for a better life and stupidity are all part of human nature and no country can claim ownership over it.

I think it’s sad that you choose to view what most of us do here as "trying to lure" foreign men using our women as carrots. Filipino women there ARE beautiful and we’re not going to apologize for that. Why those foreign men are visiting our country is really up to them.

I understand what you partly mean. That’s why in one of my answers to one question here which partly talked about Filipinas, I said, "What about our Pinoys? Isn’t it unfair to them that it’s all about the Filipinas?". lol. But I was just playing around that time. Sometimes, nakakahalata na ko, but I just don’t want to react more beyond that.

Show me where the philippine’s "tourism service is promoting these aspects of their women"
I don’t know about the other nationalities you mentioned but I do know that the Australian tourism service does depict "Surfer’s Paradise" and "Bondi Beach" with their bikini clad beauties
A group of Yappers extolling the virtues of the women folk surely cannot be considered as a tourist service.
