Single Mom, interested in dating, but has lost all self-confidence! any advice?
To start off, my last 2 relationships really brought my self confidence down to a "0". I feel like I just don’t have very responsible judgment with the men I date. I tend to fall for the games. I mean, I’m an awesome mom, and I pride myself in that fact. My son is my life. I do take care of my appearance for the most part, but sometimes I find that I will not do my makeup to give my face a break or I will just throw my hair back in a pony tail if I’m in a hurry… I’m not bad looking… I’m not conceited but I do know that I am not "fugly" either. I just feel like I forgot how to date. Like, my communication skills went from young educated adult, to single mommy who talks about her child the whole time, and doesn’t let loose because she knows she has to go home to her child. I have lost my self confidence, so it’s like pulling teeth to get me to go out and dance. I used to be the 1st person on the dance floor. I just feel like… is there a guy out there willing to pull me out of my shell? Will I ever go back to the old "me" that I was proud of, and that I enjoyed being?

Knowing that you chose the wrong men is the beginning of you now being able to make better choices and choose the right man. You are not the old "me" anymore because now you are a mommy, and of course you talk about your child because your child is the light of your life! You don’t let loose because yes you have to go home to your child, that’s not a lack of self confidence that’s just you being a good mommy and your devotion to your child. The right man would see that and appreciate that in you. Don’t rely on a man to pull you out of your shell, you need to start being confident in the person you are now..the attractive, educated, single mommy who is devoted to her child, and enjoy being that person. When you meet the right man, he will make you feel special, and wonderful and bring out the fun in you. If any man makes you feel any less than that, you know it’s time to move on, never settle for less.

You need to start flirting with guys that will boost you.
It sounds like you just need to give yourself permission to have a good time. You seem to be feeling guilty about it, and you shouldn’t. I know your son is important, but you have a right to live your own life too. If your son is with a good babysitter, or old enough to take care of himself, there’s no reason not to give yourself permission to just go out and paint the town as if you didn’t have another care in the world. Otherwise, if you’re constantly looking at your watch and fretting about getting home to your son, your date’s going to think you don’t like his company.
