I have been dating this guy off and on for about 9 months. Several times he has told me he doesn’t see himself falling in love with me or see it working out, because he needs someone more expressive, outgoing, and open with their feelings. I am asking for suggestions on ways a shy, self-concious girl like me can start getting herself to relax and be my more outgoing self, the way I am around people I am close to. I have feelings for him and think that is why I am so worried about everything I do or say around him, and that is backfiring majorly. Any tips from anyone who has had this problem with someone they were interested in, or any ideas of special things to do to surprise and Wow him and at the same time would really help me get over my problem. Please do not just tell me to stop seeing him, because I believe it is true that I’m being very closed up, and I really don’t blame him for feeling like this. I know if I acted like the "real me" we’d probably be doing much better.
He mentioned I am "all talk". That I say I will do things, then don’t, and that less talk and more doing something would be nice. I lose my confidence when it comes time to do what I said.
