Why do women on on-line dating sites ignore black/African men for dating when posting profiles online?

February 27th, 2010 by admin | Posted in Adult Dating Sites

I went to match.com for the first time in my life yesterday to see if I could find a match, however I was pretty shocked when I actually saw a category for "preferred ethnicity" I read through dozens and dozens of profiles only to find out 90% of the women would not date me simply because of my ethnicity. Personally on a scale from 1-10 people rated me on hotornot a 9.5 with over 1000 votes so it’s not like I am bad looking

I would literally fine plenty of single women who I shared all the same interests with. Same age, Job, income, music, food, movies, ETC. but since my ethnicity did not match I seem to be disqualified. It’s the only category which I have no control over.

Hell I live in NYC the most diverse city in the world but still like 90% of the woman on match.com would never consider dating me. That can’t be right!!

My findings are pretty hard to ignore please see for yourself on match.com.

98% of the women I sampled had white. Caucasian as one of there ideal match

Why did 8 of hearts feel the need to say "non-thug"?

Should people be allowed to select mates based (at least partially) on race or culture? If you say no, then are you also willing to give up this freedom of choice?

If 95% of the [black] folks I meet have [black] mates, are they perhaps practicing racism in the mating selection process? If not, then what else might explain this statistically unlikely-by-chance percentage? (Asians, whites, hispanics, etc…same question…just put these races in the brackets)

    How deep do we dig?

Personally, I find it easy to admit the faults of other races and cultures, but difficult to admit the faults of my own race and culture. Am I alone with this problem, or is it world wide?

Why do you say "simply because of my ethnicity"…like it’s a matter of small consequence? Especially when the whole world seems to make it a high priority, and in fact it’s at the very core of your question/issue?

What if one day you found a wonderful mate, but I, the liberal law man, disallowed your marriage because she is in fact Asian, and I have concerns that you were selecting her based on her ‘fair’ race, not love? How would you feel?

Which women are you sampling? It would be rare to see a black/African woman not include your race. Also why match.com, why not go out and meet people in the real world. Most people don’t really know what their ideal matches are anyway, they just have presumptions.

They are putting check marks in boxes. It’s just a general guideline. It does not disqualify you. Email them and you will get some responses if your profile and email are well put together.

It’s hard to be a black man (non-thug) on the dating scene.

I have gone through THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM as you. When I am looking at profiles online I will see a girl who is perfect for me, likes all the same things I like, and then I scroll down to the ideal ethnicity of her mate almost always WHITE.

You don’t want to say it is racism because you can’t tell people who they will fall in love with. But come on, if a woman is willing negotiate all other factors but race is a deal breaker than that does smell of racism.

Hmm, that’s pretty interesting. You should try emailing the lady you’re interested in and include a picture. If you’re hot then she’ll probably email you back.
